Fayose Sets Up Panel To Probe Predecessor, Fayemi

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has inaugurated an eight-man commission of inquiry to look into the finances of the state government under the administration of his predecessor, Mr Kayode Fayemi, between 2010 and 2014.

Governor Fayose set up the panel in compliance with the resolution passed by the State House of Assembly on May 10, 2017, directing the governor to set up the commission.

The Assembly had passed the resolution after it accused Mr Fayemi, who is the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, of failing to honour series of invitation sent to him by the Assembly to appear before the lawmakers.
The commission of inquiry is headed by retired Justice Silas Bamidele Oyewole, while the Director of Public Prosecution, Gbemiga Adaramola, is to serve as secretary.
Other members of the commission are: Bolanle Awe, who is a lawyer; Idowu Ayenimo; Omodara Vincent; Oladele Blessing, who is representing organised labour; and Adesoba Oluremi.
The Deputy Governor, Kolapo Olusola, who swore members of the commission in on behalf of Governor Fayose, urged them to do a thorough job.
In his remark, the chairman of the commission of inquiry gave the assurance that the commission would perform its duties diligently.
